Welcome to Rock Springs Ranch
In 1945, three-hundred and forty-eight acres of land was purchased that would become the new home for Kansas 4-H camp. In 1946, 4-H members and supporters raised the funds to pay off the mortgage which was ceremoniously burned. They did this before the first camping season had even begun.
Since then, Rock Springs Ranch has been host to generations of campers. Each one leaves thinking just a little bit bigger than when they arrived. They believe in themselves, in each other and in possibilities as vast as the Flint Hills prairie.
The Flint Hills
Rock Springs Ranch is located in the spectacular Flint Hills of Kansas, on one of the last remaining areas of the Tallgrass Prairie, a landscape of endless horizons, rolling hills and endless stars.
We don’t just call the prairie home, we’re also committed to its preservation. There is a mere 4% remaining of the original prairie in Kansas. We work every day to preserve the 735 acres that Rock Springs calls home. We are also situated on one of the largest ground springs in Kansas and it supplies all the water used here.
So Much More Than Just Camp
Rock Springs Ranch doesn’t just host Summer Camp, we also offer other youth opportunities, including field trips and youth groups. Our facilities are open year-round and available for business meetings, corporate retreats, family reunions and other special events. Our lodging options include our Leadership Lodge which can accommodate up to 82 guests and cottages with 24 to 76 person capacity. You can learn more about all the benefits of holding your events at Rock Springs Ranch here.
